You will deliver and enhance the student, staff and external community experience at RGU through the development and delivery of opportunities to take part in physical activity.

This role will collaborate with staff across the university to animate our campus through sport and physical activity and will work with partners across the region to grow and develop community programmes. It will form part of the development team at RGU SPORT and will design, deliver and review income generating and positive impact programmes with the goal of improving the physical, mental and social wellbeing of both the University and wider community, in line with sportscotland’s Changing Lives Through Sport approach.

You will hold Level 2 or above in coaching/teaching/instructing/trainer assessor approved qualifications or equivalent, and have experience in delivering sport, physical activity and exercise plans as well as planning, coordinating and promoting activities / events.

This post is subject to the individual being required to the PVG scheme.

Purpose of post: To deliver and enhance the student, staff and external community experience at RGU through the development and delivery of opportunities to take part in physical activity.

Principle duties: 186h5a

  1. Coordinate, develop, manage and deliver on specific areas of RGU SPORT’s income generating programmes, such as: Climbing, Group Exercise, Children, Schools and Community Engagement activity and Learn to Swim.
  2. Create, develop, implement and review programme development plans.
  3. Liaise witH appropriate internal networks in order to progress developments surrounding the staff and student wellbeing.
  4. Develop sustainable partnerships internal and external to the university in order to growth and development of community programmes in line with RGU SPORT strategic work areas; Wellbeing, Performance and Education.
  5. In liaison with the RGU SPORT management team develop and deliver programmes which contribute to the universities strategic plan, improving and enhancing the offer of Beyond the Classroom activities.
  6. Assure compliance with the university’s policies and procedures.
  7. Attend regular colleague training and personal development sessions. Ensure qualifications are updated as and when required.
  8. Carry out other related duties as required.
