Scottish Rugby is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Head of Performance Pathways to design and deliver a world-class player development system that ensures our best young athletes are identified early, developed intentionally, and ready to thrive in the international arena.
What you will be doing: 202w1d
- Lead with vision – Drive the strategic direction of the performance pathway, aligning all programmes with Scottish Rugby’s long-term goals and high performance strategy.
- Build a winning system – Oversee National Age Grade teams and Pro Team Academies, ensuring talent identification, coaching, and services are of world-class standard.
- Deliver consistency – Ensure smooth, aligned transitions for players between age grades, academies, and the professional game.
- Maximise impact – Ensure every resource, from budget to people, is used effectively and efficiently to produce outstanding development outcomes.
- Represent and report – Act as a key voice in the high performance system, reporting progress to senior leaders and engaging stakeholders across the rugby landscape.

You are a strategic leader with a true understanding of what it takes to develop elite rugby talent. You’ve led programmes, worked with athletes at every stage of the development journey, and know how to build systems that deliver results.
- Proven experience in developing and managing elite performance pathways in rugby, with a track record of developing players for the professional game
- Ability to build relationships, skilled in stakeholder engagement and team management
- Demonstrable success in managing a significant budget, ensuring effective use of resource
- Has knowledge of international best practices in elite player development
