Glasgow Life is the strategic lead for events in the city. The team invests to attract, create and grow major cultural and sporting events. We deliver high-profile annual events, including the Merchant City Festival, Glasgow Mela, the World Pipe Band Championships and Glasgow's winter events. We also deliver one-off major events and programmes, most recently delivering the World Athletics Indoors Championships 2024, the inaugural 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships and European Capital of Sport 2023, with planning underway to host Glasgow 2026 and UEFA EURO 2028. Our team are the initial point of for events coming to the city. This includes working with local, national and international partners to maximise the economic, marketing and social benefits of events to the city. We aim to position and promote Glasgow as a world-leading event destination boosting the city's tourism profile, while driving positive impacts and legacies for local communities.

As Event Manager (Venue and Operations), you'll be an integral part of the team and help the delivery of two of the world's biggest sporting events - the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and UEFA EURO 2028. Reporting to Senior Events Lead (Projects) and working alongside both an established and a new project team.

We're looking for an experienced and driven event professional to lead operational planning across Glasgow Life venues and services for Glasgow 2026. You'll oversee delivery of venue use agreements, readiness planning, and service coordination, working with internal teams, delivery partners, and city stakeholders to ensure our venues are event-ready and fully aligned with citywide delivery.

The focus for this role will transition to operational event planning and delivery of Glasgow's host city commitments for EURO 2028, including working with the project team and partners to deliver a fan zone and associated activations.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until December 2028 - a rare opportunity to take a senior operational role at the heart of Glasgow's international event delivery.

If you're interested in ing us as Event Manager (Venue and Operations) you'll need:

• Experience of successful project delivery within a multi-sport and /venue major event environment
• Experience as a senior operational manager in major events delivery
• Proven experience and ability to communicate and work in partnership with multiple stakeholders to understand expectations and deliver against agreed service levels. 
• Proven staff, project management and budget management experience
